Iberia To Wet-Lease A320-200 From Titan Airways For Summer Ops
Iberia, the flag carrier of Spain, has arranged to wet-lease one Airbus A320-200 aircraft from Titan Airways for a two-month period covering August 1 through September 30, 2025. The move is designed to bolster Iberia’s operational flexibility during the busy summer travel season and mitigate any capacity constraints across its short-haul European network.

A wet lease agreement involves the provision of an aircraft along with crew, maintenance, and insurance by the lessor—in this case, Titan Airways, a UK-based charter and ACMI specialist. The leased aircraft will operate under Iberia’s scheduling but remain under Titan’s operational control, including registration and crew management.
The Airbus A320-200 is a mainstay of both carriers’ narrowbody fleets and will seamlessly integrate with Iberia’s current network, serving popular summer destinations where seasonal demand peaks. The A320-200 typically seats between 150 and 180 passengers and is well-suited for intra-European routes.
This strategic capacity supplement underscores Iberia’s ongoing response to heightened passenger demand during summer 2025, particularly as travel rebounds strongly across the continent. Wet-leasing is a common tool used by European carriers to ensure schedule reliability without overextending permanent fleet resources.
Titan Airways has built a reputation for reliable ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) services and has supported various flag carriers and low-cost airlines across Europe during high-demand periods. Its partnership with Iberia continues a pattern of targeted operational collaborations during peak months.
The short-term lease agreement is not expected to impact Iberia’s longer-term fleet plans, but it reflects prudent network management and a flexible approach to meeting passenger needs.
