Ryanair, Europe’s largest low-cost airline, has called on Austria to abolish its passenger tax and reduce airport charges, threatening to reduce or eliminate flight services if its demands are not met. In exchange, the airline has proposed a substantial investment: to base 10 Boeing 737 MAX 8200 aircraft in the country, a move that would significantly expand its Austrian operations.
AirAsia X reported a net profit of $11.8 million for the first quarter of 2025, supported by a modest 3% increase in revenue to $222.3 million. The Malaysia-based long-haul low-cost carrier continues its post-pandemic recovery and has made key progress toward restoring full operations.
DAT (Denmark) is expanding its cooperation with Finnair (Finland) through the extension of a wet lease agreement, which now includes the addition of another Airbus A320 aircraft. From 01 June to 25 October 2025, the new aircraft will operate flights out of Barcelona, supporting both Finnair and Iberia (Spain) operations during the peak summer season.
Garuda Indonesia has announced its preparations for the 2025 Hajj season, deploying a total of 14 aircraft to serve pilgrims. Of these, eight aircraft will be sourced from within the Garuda Indonesia Group’s fleet, while six additional aircraft will be brought in under leasing arrangements.
