Nordstar Airlines Plans Fleet Expansion with SJ100 and MS-21
Nordstar Airlines (Russia) has revealed plans to expand its fleet with the acquisition of five Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SJ100) and 10 MS-21 aircraft. This announcement was made by the airline’s CEO, Leonid Mokhov, signaling the carrier’s commitment to modernizing its fleet and enhancing its operational capabilities.
The SJ100 is a regional jet developed by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft, known for its efficiency on short-haul routes. Its advanced technology and improved fuel consumption make it an attractive option for regional carriers. Meanwhile, the MS-21, designed by Irkut Corporation, is a next-generation narrow-body aircraft aimed at competing with the Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX families. With its advanced aerodynamics and innovative composite materials, the MS-21 promises reduced operational costs and improved passenger comfort.
