Delta Plans 2025 Fleet Adjustments with Retirements and Deliveries

Delta Air Lines is making significant adjustments to its fleet strategy for 2025. Following the retirement of just over 20 aircraft in 2024, the airline anticipates phasing out an additional 30 aircraft next year. At the same time, Delta plans to bolster its operations with the delivery of 40+ new aircraft, of which 12 to 13 will be widebody models, including Airbus A330neo and A350 variants.

These changes align with Delta’s long-term fleet modernization goals, aimed at improving fuel efficiency and enhancing the passenger experience. The addition of the A330neo and A350 widebodies will further support Delta’s international operations, providing increased range and capacity for its key transatlantic and transpacific routes.
