VAS Aero Services, a U.S.-based specialist in aftermarket aviation services, has been selected by Airbus to manage the teardown and redistribution of used serviceable material (USM) from three Airbus A380 aircraft, bearing serial numbers 061, 066, and 084. These aircraft are being formally retired from service and will undergo disassembly in collaboration with Tarmac Aerosave in France.
British Airways is preparing to expand its fleet with the upcoming delivery of a new Airbus A320neo. The aircraft, carrying MSN 12735, is an A320-251N variant and will be powered by CFM International LEAP-1A26 engines. Qatar Airways has entered an agreement with Mammoth Freighters (US) for the conversion of five Boeing 777 passenger aircraft into freighters, responding to continued delivery delays of the B777-8F, for which the airline has 34 firm orders and 16 options. The first of the converted aircraft—a B777-200LRMF—is expected to be delivered later in 2025.
QantasLink, the regional subsidiary of Qantas Airways, has expanded its domestic fleet with the delivery of an Embraer E190 regional jet. The aircraft, bearing serial number 19000038, is operated by Alliance Airlines under an existing capacity agreement and is powered by CF34-10E5 engines manufactured by GE Aerospace.
Air Astra, a private airline based in Bangladesh, has issued a formal Request for Proposals (RFP) for the acquisition or lease of up to four Airbus A320 or A321 aircraft, with delivery targeted by the end of 2025. The carrier is open to dry lease or outright purchase arrangements, depending on the terms offered by potential lessors or sellers.
