Saudia Group has entered into a 13-year maintenance agreement with Air France-KLM Group, under which Air France Industries (AFI) will provide comprehensive support for 86 GE90 engines powering Saudia’s Boeing 777 fleet. The agreement represents one of the largest long-term engine maintenance contracts involving the GE90, the world’s most powerful commercial jet engine.
IndiGo (India) is accelerating its international expansion by planning flights to major European destinations, including London Heathrow, Amsterdam, and Paris CDG, ahead of its previously set 2027 launch date. The airline intends to utilize six wet-leased B787-9 aircraft for these long-haul routes.
Air Austral, the airline based in Reunion, has announced plans to operate a leased Hi-Fly Malta Airbus A330-200 on its Dzaoudzi – Nairobi – Paris Charles de Gaulle – Dzaoudzi route. The aircraft will be deployed during the peak travel period between 14 December 2024 and 23 January 2025 to accommodate increased passenger demand.
Iberia, Spain’s national carrier, is set to introduce Airbus A321XLR service on its routes from Madrid to Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Stockholm Arlanda by November 7, 2024. This deployment of the A321XLR will enhance Iberia’s connectivity across Europe, offering passengers greater comfort and efficiency on these popular routes.
