Air Lease Corporation (ALC), a major U.S.-based aircraft leasing company, has canceled its outstanding order for seven Airbus A350F freighters, significantly altering the leasing landscape for Airbus’s next-generation cargo aircraft. The cancellation leaves AviLease, a Saudi Arabia-based leasing firm, as the sole lessor on Airbus’s A350F order book.
Qatar Airways has confirmed plans to cancel its order for 25 Boeing 737-10 aircraft as part of a strategic decision to center its short-haul fleet around Airbus aircraft. The move finalizes a shift that began following the resolution of a high-profile legal dispute with Airbus related to paint surface issues on the A350.
Boeing has begun flying B737 MAX aircraft previously allocated to Chinese airlines back to the United States, as trade relations between China and the U.S. continue to deteriorate. The jets, which were originally destined for Chinese operators, had remained parked in Zhoushan, where Boeing maintains a completion and delivery center.
