AirExplore, the largest airline in Slovakia, has entered into a long-term Power-By-The-Hour (PBH) maintenance agreement with FL Technics Wheels & Brakes to support the landing gear components of its expanding Boeing 737-800 fleet. This strategic move comes as AirExplore scales up its operations, increasing its fleet size from 9 to 16 aircraft in 2024.
American Airlines Flight 3023 experienced a serious emergency at Denver International Airport on Saturday afternoon, when the left landing gear of the aircraft caught fire during takeoff preparations. The flight, operated by a Boeing 737 MAX 8, was bound for Miami and was taxiing at approximately 2:45 PM local time when smoke and flames were observed.
Virgin Atlantic has officially joined the Boeing Landing Gear Exchange Program, a move that reinforces its long-term maintenance strategy for the B787-9 Dreamliner fleet. The agreement will ensure the UK-based carrier has access to 17 fully overhauled and certified landing gear assemblies, with support set to begin in 2026.
