Despite these challenges, Kenya Airways remains proactive in updating and expanding its fleet. The airline currently operates eight B737-800s, having received only one of four planned -800s for 2025. Two additional units are expected to arrive in 2026. The airline also plans to lease six B737-8s and is preparing to reintroduce a B777-300ER into its fleet in May 2026.
This strategic expansion underscores the airline’s commitment to modernizing its fleet and enhancing its network, despite ongoing supply chain difficulties and operational hurdles. Kenya Airways is also evaluating further widebody options as it seeks to strengthen its long-haul capabilities.
