Airbus is actively evaluating the potential launch of the A220-500, an extended version of its A220 family, with production plans hinging on reaching a key milestone. According to Joost Van der Heijden, Senior Vice President for Commercial Aircraft Marketing at Airbus, the decision to proceed with the A220-500 will be considered once A220 production achieves a rate of 14 units per month.
