Air India Launches Widebody Retrofit And Nears A320neo Upgrade Completion

Air India has officially commenced the widebody retrofit programme for its legacy Boeing 787-8 fleet, marking a major milestone in its US$ 400 million fleet enhancement initiative. The first aircraft, VT-ANT, departed in July 2025 for Boeing’s facility in Victorville, California, to undergo a full interior transformation. A second 787-8 will follow in October, with both scheduled to return to service in December 2025.
