Aeroflot and I Fly Near Agreement for Historic A330 Wet Lease Deal
In a landmark agreement within Russian aviation, Aeroflot and I Fly are reportedly finalizing a wet lease arrangement for three Airbus A330 aircraft. This deal, the first of its kind in Russia, signals a shift toward greater collaboration between domestic airlines in the region. The wet lease, which includes the provision of crew, maintenance, and insurance by I Fly, is expected to facilitate Aeroflot’s operations by expanding its wide-body fleet to meet current demand. This transfer of A330s is also likely to lead to their eventual re-registration under Russian ownership via NLK Finance, which would reinforce Aeroflot’s commitment to enhancing its operational independence.
