While the carrier acknowledges facing significant financial and technical challenges, it has confirmed that services continue and that government support is being actively pursued to stabilize operations.
Voepass Linhas Aéreas, a regional carrier in Brazil, has officially filed for bankruptcy protection, citing business disruptions stemming from its relationship with LATAM Airlines as a principal factor in its ongoing financial crisis. The filing comes as Voepass reports a total debt burden of approximately US$36.7 million.
Viva Air Peru, the low-cost carrier that ceased operations in February 2023, has been placed under ordinary bankruptcy proceedings, according to the competition regulator. This development formalizes the airline’s financial collapse, opening the way for creditors to seek repayment.
