Aeroflot is preparing to dismantle eight Boeing cargo aircraft to secure critical spare parts, reflecting the mounting challenges imposed on the Russian aviation sector by Western sanctions. According to Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service, the aircraft will be sourced from Volga-Dnepr Airlines at an estimated cost of $130 million, with the program reportedly financed by Russia’s National Welfare Fund.
