IndiGo Secures Approval to Extend Wet Lease of 11 A320s from SmartLynx Airlines

IndiGo, India’s largest airline, has received approval from the Indian government to renew the wet lease of 11 Airbus A320 aircraft from Latvia-based SmartLynx Airlines. This renewal aims to support IndiGo’s operational needs as the carrier addresses an Aircraft on Ground (AOG) issue caused by recurring engine snags affecting its fleet. The wet lease agreement provides IndiGo with additional capacity, allowing it to maintain service reliability despite challenges with its in-house engines.
